University of Zululand {Richards Bay campus} Hosts GBV awareness campaign
The aim is to fight against those who are violating the right of students and abuse against UNIZULU students.
Gender-based violence is viewed as a violation of human rights, a significant roadblock to attaining gender equality, and a hindrance to a nation's growth. GBV substantially increases during times of crisis, such as pandemics and war.
Enough is enough says University of Zululand. GBV has grown to be a serious issue for society as a whole as well as HEIs all over the world. According to Morrison, Ellsberg, and Bott (2004), Gross et al. (2006), and Kuki (2018), GBV is usually defined as acts of physical, emotional, or psychological abuse, molestation, exploitation, or any non-consensual sexual advances made towards another person.
They made it clear if anyone touch you just call Protective Student Department 24 hour emergency 035-902 6599 every abusive person will be dealt with.
